Machine-building, potash industry called most promising Belarus-India cooperation avenuesMINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – India believes that machine-building and production of potash fertilizers are the most promising cooperation avenues for Belarus and India, said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Manoj Kumar Bharti at the press conference held on 10 August to highlight India’s Independence Day. The diplomat noted that Belarus and India are actively cooperating in these fields and consider opportunities to expand the ties. These matters were top on the agenda during the visit of First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko to India in October 2010 and the visit of Indian Coal Industry Minister Shri Sriprakash Jaiswal to Minsk in June this year. “India is greatly interested in Belarus’ machine-building industry. A BelAZ service center has opened in India. An investment proposal from BelAZ and Amkodor is in the pipeline. An Indian company has recently signed a contract to purchase 1.2 million tonnes of potash from the Belarusian Potash Company,” Manoj Bharti underlined. |
