MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ demographic security program for 2011-2015 envisages key measures for making housing more affordable for large and young families, First Deputy Labor and Social Security Minister of Belarus Piotr Grushnik told a press conference on 16 August. The program stipulates government financial assistance to large families in paying back soft loans issued for construction (renovations) or acquisition of housing as well as an increase of government financial assistance to young and large families to pay off banking loans on construction (renovations) or acquisition of housing granted on a regular basis. Under the demographic security program, the government will repay 75% of a soft loan if a family raises three minor children and 100% if a family has four minor children. The relevant regulation will be drafted in 2012, Piotr Grushnik reported. In terms of financial support to young families with many children with the repayment of housing loans issued on a regular basis, the government will pay the sum equal to 40 subsistence wages to a family as they have (or adopt) a first child or if they raise one minor child, 80 subsistence wages to a family with two minors, 100 subsistence wages to a family with three and more children.
